Meet LaShaya

CEO of Healing The Pieces Special Needs Caregiver

Pieces so special

Hi, I’m LaShaya Collier—but my kiddos call me Ms. Shay.

Growing up in New York City, my family and I were unfamiliar with the world of special needs—until my nephew was diagnosed with autism at a young age. I remember my sister saying, “We have to try to understand him our way.” Like many families, we had no idea what kind of journey lay ahead. I saw firsthand the challenges my sister faced just trying to access basic resources and support.

Now, as a special needs caregiver, I’ve dedicated my life to helping families navigate the many hurdles that come with raising a child with unique needs. I understand deeply—both emotionally and spiritually—what families go through in search of help and hope.

That’s why my team and I are committed to supporting each family we work with. Whether it’s keeping up with doctor appointments, attending IEP meetings, or helping with daily routines, my team and I are here to walk alongside you every step of the way. Were passionate about what we do—and that passion shines through in the success of the families we serve.

Our Mission

Our mission is to fight for love,

Having witnessed family, friends, and colleagues navigate the autism diagnostic journey the last 30 years, I felt a growing calling to make a difference. This calling intensified during the COVID-19 pandemic, as I saw more families grappling with uncertainty, isolation, and limited resources.

Throughout these experiences, I have dedicated to guiding my clients with compassion, practical strategies, and emotional support, empowering them to achieve their goals with confidence. Life has its own challenges too. In just nine months, I faced the heartbreaking of my mother, sister aunt, and grandfather transitions. This period of profound grief taught me the importance of mental health, emotional well-being, and leaning on God for my inner strength, I emerged with a renewed purpose and dept for every family Healing the pieces encounter.

This journey motivated me to pursue a higher education in Psychology, with aim of merging lived experience, education, and faith to create meaningful, personalized change in our clients' lives—enhancing their mental and wellness and ultimately helping them lead more fulfilling lives.

My team and I are providing unwavering care. Fully dependable, loving, compassionate, and ready to learn. We have clients who hire us for various of reason and we show up without hinderance. Our motto is "client comes first".

Our clients have said " Healing the pieces special needs homecare have restored finances back into the home. Job security, freedom, rest, peace, and warmth. That's what Healing the Pieces is all about. A fight for love.

When God guided me from the Northeast to the South, found myself among families in need of support and direction. I realized then that I was truly walking in my purpose. Today, I am privileged to connect lifestyle with convenience, assisting families in the support and resources they need to thrive. “God healed me during the hardest time of my life—and now He’s guiding me to heal the PIECES.”
